<strong>COWBOYS VS. FIREFIGHTERS:</strong> Current and former Dallas Cowboys are set to play in the fifth annual Ballin' With the 'Boys charity basketball game against the Longview Fire Department on Saturday at Longview's Lobo Coliseum.
Doors open at 1 p.m., and tip-off is at 3 p.m. The event benefits Community Healthcore.
Michael Irvin is this year's celebrity host. Former Cowboys Drew Pearson, Kevin Smith and Larry Brown and current Cowboy players Morris Claiborne, Dwayne Harris and Barry Church are also scheduled to appear.
General admission tickets are $25. VIP tickets are $125, and tickets for children younger than 10 are $10.

<strong>RAYS TRYOUT AT HALLSVILLE:</strong> HALLSVILLE - Area baseball players will have a chance to try out for the Tampa Bay Rays in an open camp set for June 11 at Hallsville High School's baseball field.
The Rays are interested in any local players whose skills would be an asset to the team. Players will be evaluated on running, throwing, fielding and hitting abilities.
The camp is for players ages 16-21, and the camp will be supervised by Rays scout Pat Murphy and under the direction of scout Scott Mitchell.
Registration will be at 8:30 a.m., with workout to follow.
The Rays will provide all equipment with the exception of glove, spikes and catcher's gear.

<strong>FIFTH-GRADE OLYMPICS:</strong> Longview ISD will hold its annual 5th Grade Olympics from 9 a.m.-noon on May 27 at Lobo Stadium.
Campuses represented will be Bramlette, J.L. Everhart, Hudson PEP, Johnston-McQueen, Ned E. Williams, South Ward and Ware.
Participants should be in place for the opening ceremony by 8:45 a.m. Grand entry is at 9 a.m., and events are scheduled to begin at 9:15.
Concessions will be available.
MIDNIGHT MADNESS: Spring Hill High School will host its annual Midnight Madness junior and adult mixed doubles tennis tournament beginning at 7 p.m. on June 13 at the high school tennis courts.
Divisions will be limited to 16 teams. Entry fee is $10 per person.

<strong>YOUTH FOOTBALL:</strong> The Spring Hill Youth Football Association will hold registration for both flag and tackle football and cheerleading from 5-8 p.m. May 27-28 at Spring Hill First Baptist Church.
Flag football and cheerleading will be for those entering grades K-3 in the fall. Tackle football and cheerleading will be for those entering grades 4-6 in the fall.

<strong>ET PREMIER PRACTICE:</strong> East Texas Premier-SC will host its annual open practice sessions beginning June 1 and running through July 1.
ETX Premier-SC is a college showcase team based in Longview, which will compete in some of the top college showcases around the Midwest and Southwest regions of the United States. The team is looking for U17-U18 players.

<strong>ARK-LA-TEX GOLF:</strong> The Ark-La-Tex Junior Golf Tour will begin its regular season on Monday, June 9 at Alpine Golf Course.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. There will also be a long drive contest, closest to the pin contest, a Vegas hole and door prizes throughout the day.

The second annual Union Grove ISD Scholarship/Athletic Partnership Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, May 31 at Wood Hollow Golf Course in Longview.

<strong>ASBURY HOUSE CLAY SHOOT:</strong> The Asbury House Child Enrichment Center's Fourth Annual Sporting Clays Challenge is Saturday, May 31, at Prairie Creek Sporting Clays.
Registration is 7:30 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch will be provided.
Individual shooters as well as teams of five can participate for $100 per shooter. Sponsorship opportunities ranging from $100 to $2,000 are available.
All proceeds from the clay shoot event benefit the programs of Longview's Asbury House Child Enrichment Center.
Asbury House, 320 S. Center St., is an outreach ministry of local United Methodist churches, and currently serves 60 children ages 3-5. Asbury House is a Recognized Facility, having been awarded the "Pre-K Center of Excellence" award from the Texas Education Agency.
