Four friends decided to celebrate a birthday by hitting the highway for the 2006 Texas Relays held in Austin. These social butterflies were ready to party:

Marquette Hines and birthday girl Kitaria Lafayette left Daingerfield headed to Austin. Before they could reach their ultimate destination, they stopped in Dallas to pick up two more of their best girlfriends, Melodie Garrett and Dione Garrett. That night they caught up on girl talk and sleep — they knew they had a big day ahead of them!
As soon as they pulled into Austin they hit Highland Park Mall. They weren't a bit surprised to see familiar faces, either. People from all over Texas came to Austin for the relays, even East Texans like themselves! But running into friends didn't stop this foursome from shopping — costume jewelry, wedge shoes and a bag of candy topped their favorite buys.
Later that evening the girls were having so much fun just being together that they vetoed the Texas Relays event and decided to spend time around some good food and great music at Bennigan's.
They capped the evening with a trip to a downtown area known well by social butterflies like themselves: 6th Street. They danced the night away and enjoyed being together for this birthday weekend.
