Road Trip: San Diego&Arizona

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Longtime girlfriends Janet Delahoussaye, Paige Tigert, Lisa Pappert Curry, Michelle Delarue Miller and Cindy Ezell hadn?t all been in the same room together in almost 10 years. Early in 2007, they decided it was time they all got together for a weekend of uninterupted girl time.

The girls are all smiles once they finally all get to see each other!

During their trip, they threw a small pool party, where they sipped on cocktails and caught up on each other?s lives.

At the start of Labor Day weekend, Cindy caught a flight from Longview to San Diego, CA, where she met her friends Janet and Paige. The three of them met at Paige?s home in a quaint suburban area called Chula Vista, and after an afternoon of sightseeing and lunching at a Greek restaurant, they ended up having drinks and sharing stories at a great Mexican restaurant in a hip part of San Diego.

The next morning the girls hit the road for a 6-hour road trip to Phoenix, AZ. The women enjoyed the green rolling hills, deserted land, rock mountains and miles and miles of sand dunes. They sang, danced in their seats, acted goofy and caught up on each other?s lives. When they finally arrived in Phoenix, they navigated their way to Michelle?s house, which she shares with her husband and two daughters. The final friend, Lisa, arrived shortly thereafter, and the five women were so full of happiness and excitement they could hardly stop laughing, crying and hugging each other. The rest of the evening was spent sipping cocktails, sharing life stories, exchanging gifts and laughing so hard they cried.

The remaining two days of the long weekend were spent at Michelle's pool — a tropical oasis. The area was filled with a rock garden, beautiful tropical plants and large imported pottery. The gals listened to '80s and classic '70s music, drank cocktails and grilled tasty meals. It was a perfect time spent together.

As the trip ended and the ladies were gearing up to go their separate ways, they made a pact to not let 10 years go by before seeing each other again. In fact, they've already begun planning the 2nd Annual Girlfriend Getaway 2008!
