For years, Longview resident Kathy Rae had tried to plan a girls' weekend for herself and her girlfriends. In July, she made it happen! A group of 10 women (Kathy's girlfriends and their daughters) hopped into a couple of cars and headed to Galveston for a fun-filled, three-day mother/daughter weekend.

They left early Friday morning with the mothers in one car and daughters in the other. Once they reached Galveston, the group got a taste of seafood at Casey's Seafood Cafe. After their first seafood fix, they boarded a ferry which took them to their rented beach house on Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula.
The next couple of days were spent lounging around, combing the beaches and spending much-needed quality time together. During the afternoons, the girls would play in the waves and shop at the local market for random supplies they'd need and cute trinkets to take back with them. At night, they enjoyed grilling fresh shrimp as they listened to fun music and calm waves.
The relaxing weekend was a great way for Kathy Rae and her gal pals to spend time with each other and with their daughters. It was a fun multi-family vacation that they are sure to do again!
