This year's high school graduates aren't just following the Class of 2007 across the commencement stage.
"We've got 60 percent of seniors going to four-year colleges, which is about the usual rate for us," Spring Hill High Principal Bobby Watkins said. He has 103 students in the Class of '08.

"A four-year degree isn't the right path for everybody, but a two-year course or technical training in the military is likely to lead them to a more comfortable life than they would have by entering the workforce with only a high school diploma," Watkins said.
About 84 percent of Pine Tree's 312 seniors surveyed said they would either attend community college or a four-year university.
The majority of Gladewater's 124 graduates, meanwhile, said they would attend community college or go into the workforce. Some of Gladewater's seniors are patients at Truman W. Smith Children Care Center, a long-term health care facility.
Longview High School Principal James Brewer said Monday that surveys were under way at his campus. Results were expected within a couple of weeks.
