Police investigating hit-and-run wrecks

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Monday, November 02, 2009

Longview police are investigating two wrecks Saturday in which drivers left the scene.

"There were no life-threatening injuries," Sgt. David Scott said of the wrecks, one at 4 p.m. and the second around 7:30 p.m. One injured person from each incident was taken to an emergency room, he said.

Scott did not have a report on the wrecks, and was not certain where the earlier one occurred. The second one happened on Mobberly Avenue and involved a bicycle rider who was struck.

The investigations could lead to arrests, though none was contemplated Sunday, he added.

"Both of these (incidents) are still under investigation," Scott said. "We should know more by (today)."
