The Longview girls basketball team will open the 2009-10 season tonight at 6:30 p.m. against Paris at Lobo Coliseum

Head coach Tommy Aldridge said the junior varsity game will start at 5 p.m., while the freshman game has been cancelled.

Panola basketball team improves to 3-0

NATCHITOCHES, La. — Raschard Boatner had 10 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals to lead Panola to a 106-41 win over the Northwestern State JV on Saturday.

Gary Cox, Charlton Orr Jones and Thomas Orr each scored 16 points for the Ponies (3-0). Panola led 55-14 at halftime, and none of its 12 players played more than 21 minutes as the Ponies aimed for balance.

Panola hosts the Stephen F. Austin State JV tonight at 7 p.m. in Carthage.
