Shots were fired Saturday night after a Longview homeowner pulled a shotgun on a suspected burglar.

According to police spokeswoman Kristie Brian, at about 11 p.m. one of the residents saw a man attempting to enter the home in the 100 block of Queens Court. Officials believe is 37-year-old Michael Hill.

Brian said when Hill entered the home, the homeowner pulled a shot gun on him and a shot was fired while the two wrestled over the gun.

"Hill fled from the home to the house next door. Evidently he knew the guy who lived next door, but they weren't home and police got him," Brian said.

Hill remained jailed Monday morning on $15,000 bond, charged with burglary of a habitation.
