A head-on collision Saturday evening has left one man dead and another in serious condition, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The wreck happened about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Texas 155 about 10 miles south of Gilmer.
Upshur County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Lyle Potter pronounced Charles Kenneth Gibbs, 73, of Overton dead at the scene, DPS said. Noe Paz-Aquillon, 26, of Daingerfield was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center where he remains in serious condition, DPS said.
The wreck happened when Paz-Aquillon, who was driving southeast on Texas 155, drove his 2000 Infiniti QX4 into oncoming traffic, striking Gibbs’ 2004 Toyota 4-Runner, according to DPS reports.
