Waste pick-up in the City of Carthage was delayed earlier this week after the local Progressive Waste fleet experienced mechanical issues.

Texas Sports Writers vote three local players to an All-State team

The Texas Sports Writers Association released their Collin Street Bakery All-State baseball teams this week and three Panola County players found their name on a team.

Carthage and Beckville students receive awards at SFA band camp

Carthage and Beckville students received awards recently at the Stephen F. Austin State University Band Camp in Nacogdoches. Madolynn Permenter, band student at Carthage Junior High, received the Outstanding Woodwind Award from Corey Graves, director of the 8th Grade Stone Fort Band.

Booten and Crum to wed

Randy and Rebecca Roberts of Carthage and Ken Booten, Sr. of Indianapolis, IN are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their son, Kenneth Lee Booten, II to Holley Kay Crum. Holley is the daughter of Scott and Apryl Crum of Tyler. The couple will wed Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. at Pistol Creek Ranch in Bullard, Texas. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The newlyweds will make their home in Carthage.
