Mary Morgan Swanson, a key member of the White Oak Ladyneck volleyball team that advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals in 2007, will continue her career at East Texas Baptist University.

Swanson was named to the Longview News-Journal's All-East Texas Volleyball Team as a senior after racking up 288 kills, 87 blocks, 14 service aces and a 95 percent serving percentage.

White Oak won the District 15-3A championship, and then notched playoff wins over Bullard, Mabank, Lucas Lovejoy and Royse City to advance to the Class 3A state semifinals. The Ladynecks fell to Monahans in the semifinals in San Marcos.

Swanson was a second-team all-district selection in 2005 and was named the top defender in the district in 2006 before earning top blocker honors in the district last season.

She will join an ETBU program that has made seven consecutive trips to the playoffs and has won three American Southwest Conference championships in that span.
