Bullard 3, Gilmer 2
GILMER — The Bullard Lady Panthers edged Gilmer in the fifth and deciding match to earn a 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-13 District 17-3A win.
Michaela Noble had 31 kills, three blocks and a dig in the loss for Gilmer. Lacy Hodges added 20 digs, Sarah Williams 23 kills, 11 digs, one block and one ace, Colin Coleman four digs, Shaylee Wilson 12 digs, Elizabeth Williams nine digs, one kill and one ace, Brooke Helms three aces, Lizbeth Perez three kills, one block, six digs and one ace, Lindsey Bradshaw 50 assists, four kills, six digs, one block and four aces and Morgan Buller three kills.
The Bullard JV was a 25-12, 28-26 winner, and Gilmer won the freshman in 16-25, 25-21, 25-20 fashion.
Carthage 3, Center 0
CARTHAGE — Hannah Hildebrand dished out 23 assists, and Hali Turner and Christina Shubert combined for 20 kills as the Carthage Lady Bulldogs wrapped up the District 18-3A championship with a 25-15, 25-12, 25-8 win over Center.
Turner had nine kills, two digs and four aces for the Lady Bulldogs, who will face Hallsville at 5 p.m. Friday in Carthage in a tune-up match.
Shubert finished with 11 kills, eight digs and four aces, Hildebrand 23 assists, six digs, one kill and a block, Sarah Anderson five kills, four digs, two blocks and four aces, Lindy Wyatt five digs and six aces, BreAnn Halcumb five kills and two digs and Kristina Worley one kill and one block.
Redwater 3, Paul Pewitt 2
REDWATER — The Paul Pewitt Lady Brahmas dropped a 25-12, 16-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-6 District 12-2A decision to Redwater.
Chynna Herron had 16 kills, three blocks, six points and 25 digs in the loss for Paul Pewitt, which fell to 6-8 in district play.
Ariel Carpenter added five kills, four blocks, three points and three digs, Lindsey Munkres 27 digs, Taylor Myers two kills, 12 points and five digs, Kiersten Wiley nine points and eight digs, Brandi Thigpen 13 digs, Emily Strole one kill, six points, three aces, 15 digs and eight assists and Rachel Henderson 15 digs, 15 assists, one kill, one ace and four points.
The Paul Pewitt JV dropped a 25-17, 25-23 decision and the freshmen fell in 22-25, 25-10, 25-19 fashion.
Hawkins 3, Big Sandy 2
HAWKINS — The Hawkins Lady Hawks captured the District 17-A championship with a 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 16-25, 15-9 win over Big Sandy.
Trailing 9-6 in the fifth and deciding game, Shelby Casteel served up nine straight points to lead the Lady Hawks to victory.
Shelby Jacobs had 33 digs, 18 points, six assists and four kills, and Empress Wofford added 20 digs for Hawkins. Jaci Ledkins had eight kills, and Brittany Cox and Katherine Montgomery four kills apiece.
For Big Sandy in the loss, Etta Hodge had 13 kills, five digs, six points, nine solo blocks and three assists. Hailee Sigler was 31-for-42 on serve receive with 14 points and five aces. Corneissa Harper had six kills, two block assists, 20 assists and 15 points. Jazz Chalk had five kills and two blocks, Karissa Baird six points, Jessica White two kills, five block assists, 11 assists and four points, Kalyn Brisby eight kills and three solo blcoks and Brooke Dozier four digs.
