Three Hallsville Ladycats have recently signed with colleges to extend their athletic careers.
Jacquelyn Hearne, Serita Ingram and Danielle Jones are taking their games to the next level.
Hearne, a Hallsville basketball post, signed with Panola, while Ingram, a middle blocker for the Ladycat volleyball team, signed with Ottawa University in Kansas. Jones, who starts for Hallsville's softball squad, inked with Bossier Parish Community College.
The 6-1 Hearne has been a multi-sport athlete at Hallsville. In addition to playing basketball, she recently competed in the long jump, 400-meter run and 1,600-meter relay at the Class 4A Region II Track and Field Championships.
The 6-foot Ingram, who also played post for Hallsville's basketball team, was an important part of the Ladycat volleyball front line for the past couple of seasons.
Jones finished the regular season with a .338 batting average and 15 RBIs. Five of Jones' 24 hits were doubles. J
ones has also pitched for Hallsville this season, going 5-2 with a 1.60 earned run average. She has struck out 61 batters and only walked 12 in 75 innings pitched, recording two shutouts.
The Ladycat softball team will open the Class 4A playoffs with a best-of-three area series against Rockwall Heath. All games will be played in Lindale, with the opener set for 5 p.m. Friday.
