Charles M. (Buddy) Neeley and Anita (Rohrer) Neeley are celebrating their 50th anniversary on March 25, 2018. They met outside the nuclear chemistry classroom at the University of Arkansas. The chemistry was right, and they later married at his mothers home in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on March 25, 1968. After completing their graduate degrees at the university, they moved to Gainesville, Florida, where Buddy did post-doctoral research and Anita did pharmaceutical research at the University of Florida.
They moved to Longview, Texas, when Buddy accepted a position with Texas Eastman Company. His career included work in research, in administration, and in supervising the research of others. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1998. Anita taught at Kilgore High School for a year before accepting a position in the chemistry department at Kilgore College, retiring in 2001. She worked as an instructor, as an administrator and as an advisor for Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society. The couple will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a trip to Floridas Disney World.
