Uhlers celebrate 60th

James Uhler and Mary Lee White were married on July 29, 1956 at Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville, Texas by Rev. Thomas Talbot. They honeymooned in Galveston, Texas and have continued this tradition for 60 years.

To celebrate 60 years of marriage, Jim and Lee took a ten day train trip that included travel through 12 states, starting in Longview, Texas and ending in New Orleans, Louisiana. Also, daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda (Billy) Steele and Rocky (Dub) Jester hosted a family dinner at Ralph & Kacoos in Bossier City.

The couple have five grandchildren, Kristin Hampton, Kandi Buck, Kyrie Dichard, Abby and Alyssa Jester and six great-grandchildren, Kamren, Kaden and Kashten Parham, Brick Hampton, Issac and Georgia Gene Dichard.

Jim retired from Eastman Kodak after 35 years and Lee retired from Mobberly Baptist Church after working 25 years. They are both active members of Mobberly Baptist Church and love God, each other, family, friends and train trips.
