Allen Celebrates 70th

Kenneth and Shirley Allen will be honored by their children on the occasion of their 70th with a reception at Colonial Village. Ken and Shirley were married on May 25, 1946, in Marshall, Texas. Ken started his career with SWEPCO in 1946 as a meter reader in Galveston, moving to Marshall in 1947. His career included office manager of Gladewater and area manager in Center, where he retired. Shirley enjoyed a career as manager of the credit bureaus in Gladewater and Center. After retiring, they moved to Lakeview, Arkansas where they enjoyed fishing on the White River and traveling and meeting many new friends. They moved back to Texas several years ago to be close to family. Ken and Shirley are members of the Winterfield United Methodist Church. They have four children, Bill, Paula, Alice and Mickey.

Attending the Anniversary Celebration in Longview will be Ken and Shirleys children, Bill and Pat Allen, Paula and Jerry Fowlkes, Alice and Ed Odom and Mickey and Joe Crabtree; grandchildren, Patrick and Ayliz Allen, Brett and Jen Cummings, Eric and Tambria Cummings, Clint Cummings, Jason and Jennifer Fowlkes, Amanda and Kenneth Maynard, Daniel Barnard, and Kenny and Candace Pullin; and great-grandchildren, Jason and Jake Allen, Carter and Lindsey Kate Cummings, Taylor and Austin Boleman, Tyler and Amber Cummings, Jacob and Jacqueline Fowlkes, Shawn, Gavin, Trendon and Ava A. Maynard, and Morgan Pullin.

Friends and family are invited to attend a reception honoring Ken and Shirley on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at Colonial Village, Eastman Road in Longview.
