Mr. Billie Adams & Mrs Norma Adams
Mr. Billie Hugh Adams and former Ms. Norma Lee Howell were married on September 26, 1949, in Beckville, TX, making this year their 68th wedding anniversary. They met while Bill was attending Panola College and he was instantly smitten by the lovely Norma.
They are parents of two children; Jody Adams and wife Lisa of Marshall, TX. and Julie Adams and partner Luz Adams of Longview, TX. They have two grandchildren, Brian Adams and wife Mandy of Tyler, TX. and Allison Adams and husband Art Gay of Tyler, TX. Their three great-grandchildren are Jake, Trent, and Ellie Adams of Tyler, TX.
They currently reside in an independent senior living center in Longview, TX, enjoying life and happiness in the company of friends and family. Their anniversary will be celebrated with a family dinner.
After college, Bill worked as a pipeline manager traveling with his wife and work team helping build pipelines in the northwestern region of the US. He returned to Longview, TX and worked as a Safeway manager for 25 years until owning Adams Furniture and Appliances for 32 years and Bills Rustic Furniture, both in Longview, TX. He retired shortly after his 85th birthday. Norma was an outstanding homemaker and worked at Thiokol Corporation in Karnack, TX., then later owned Normas Novelties, a business in which she used her artistic talents. She is a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and loyal friend. She is also a current member of Reel Road Church of Christ in Longview. They are both cherished and loved by everyone whose life they have touched.
