The bride is the daughter of Larry and Sheri Johnston of Longview, Texas. The groom is the son of Prem and Asha Mittal of India.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory gown with lace overlay and a jewel-encrusted sash. She carried a wild bouquet of bright flowing flowers. For the Hindu ceremony, she wore a traditional red lehnga with gold thread work.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was Lauren Cockerell of Fort Worth. Bridesmaids were Jocelyn Tatum of Fort Worth, Lauren Foster of Fort Worth and the bride’s sister, Megaan Johnston of Austin. Junior bridesmaids were the bride’s nieces, Madeline Jones and Aubrey Jones of Longview. Flower girls were the groom’s nieces, Chaarvi Garg of Austin, Diya Mittal of Chicago and Jia Gupta of Toronto. The best man was Manu’s brother, Bhanu Mittal of Chicago.
A reception was held at the Belo Mansion. Guests from around the world dined on Indian, Mexican and Southern cuisine.
The bride and groom’s first dance was “Stand By Me,” and the father-daughter dance was “My Girl.” Guests celebrated on the dance floor, dancing to the beats of a live dhol drummer and international music. The couple departed in a vintage Rolls Royce, amidst colorful ribbons waved by guests.
The couple honeymooned in New Zealand and reside in Dallas.
