Glimpses of Grace
Dorothy Horne writes about walking the road of Alzheimer's with her husband and also shares stories, reflections and humorous observations about everyday life and God's grace and provision in all circumstances.
Dorothy’s first book, “Glimpses of Grace: Walking in Hope through Alzheimer’s and Ordinary Days,” is a collection of her columns, stories and poems published in the Longview News-Journal and online blogsite. Her blog, "Glimpses of Grace" was awarded 1st place in its category at the 2016 Texas Associated Press Managing Editor's awards convention in the spring.
Judges' comment: "[Dorothy] engages her audience on a very personal level while bringing a public face to a very private thing, while filling her writing with her blog's goal: glimpsing God's grace. Her work is very sharable for those fighting the same battles; her voice is clarion clear while never falling to maudlin. Anyone who has been a caregiver to a parent or spouse knows this journey, and yet when we share it — personally or, in Dorothy's case, very publicly — it helps each of us cope. Placed in the context of God's will, this strikes a chord, even for the less pious among us. Graceful and grace-filled, indeed. Thank you very much, Dorothy."
