An East Texas body of water has landed a spot on a website's list of the nation's ten most popular lakes.

Yahoo Travel put the Spanish moss-blanketed Caddo Lake squarely at number eight in its list that was published earlier this month.

"On the border of Louisiana and Texas, Caddo Lake is a protected wetlands and home to the largest cypress forest in the world," the post reads. "And it's a beautiful spot to canoe through lush vegetation."

The entry touts the cabins at Caddo Lake State Park as a good place to stay and advises reading up on alligator safety tips before a visit.

Other lakes on the list include Crater Lake in Oregon and Table Rock in Missouri. Yahoo Travel's number one pick for most popular lake? That would be Lake Tahoe.

According to Yahoo Travel's post, the list was based on online searches about the lakes. No matter the basis for the logic, I think Caddo belongs on the list. Then again, I'm a bit biased.
