Welcome to the updated News-Journal.com.

We have kept most items in the same place to keep the navigation familiar to frequent readers, but we’ve also added some features we hope you’ll like.

First, our new site is built to adapt to the device you’re using to access it. If you’re on a mobile device and viewing News-Journal.com, you will get an experience that is tailored to the size of your screen. The same is true when you are reading on your desktop, laptop or tablet.

One thing regular readers of the mobile site might notice right away is that you can now share stories through social media directly from the site.

You can also comment on stories directly from your smartphone. We previously only offered commenting on the desktop version of the site.

As you click into stories and see related photos, you can click on the ones that display with the story. Those will then display in a lightbox-type presentation and allow you to click through to the rest of the photos with that story.

Readers can more easily share their photos with us by clicking on “Upload” under the reader photos that display on the right on the desktop and under the main stories and video on smartphones. You need only to login through Facebook or your Google account.

If you are a subscriber to our e-edition, you can access the login page by hovering over Readers Services at the top left of the homepage. It’s stationed up there along with the rest of our Readers Services links.

Readers may also notice surveys on some stories as they access the site. We are not using these surveys to collect any personal data, and they are set to only display once every three days. These surveys, which take just a few seconds to complete, help us keep content on the site free for our readers.

As with the launch of any new product, we may encounter some glitches early on. If you see something that doesn’t appear to be working right, please feel free to let us know at infolnj@news-journal.com
