Insider: First offer arrives for 2020 QB Haynes King

Haynes King's first season as the Longview quarterback turned heads as the sophomore helped guide the Lobos to the state semifinals.
Plenty of people took notice as well.
Louisiana Tech became the first college to offer the 6-2, 170-pound sophomore on Tuesday, he told the News-Journal via a phone call.
King, who was the LN-J All-East Texas Football Team Offensive Newcomer of the Year, finished he debut season 130 of 240 passing for 2,106 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He added 22 carries for 238 yards and two touchdowns on the ground for the Lobos, winning 10-straight games after being named the starter.
King, the son of Longview head coach John King, also competes on the varsity basketball team as well as runs track.
