Longview head coach Don Newton was ready for the Christmas holidays to end two weeks ago so the Lobos get could back to a normal routine.

This week, Mother Nature had other plans.

Like most teams throughout the area, Longview's schedule was altered and then changed again as wintry weather made its way into East Texas.

Now the Lobos, sitting at 17-5 on the season and 3-2 in District 11-6A, will close out the final two games of the first half of district play in a two-day span.

Longview, who is 3-0 at home and 0-2 away from Lobo Coliseum, will look for its first two-game winning streak as they hit the road to Mesquite Horn with tipoff slated for 5 p.m. Thursday in Mesquite. The Lobos return home on Friday to take on Tyler Lee to close out the first run through 11-6A action.

Mesquite and North Mesquite were the only teams in 11-6A to play their Tuesday games as originally scheduled.

Longview will host Mesquite Horn at 5 p.m. Thursday at Lobo Coliseum to start the final playoff push. The Lady Jaguars took a 74-51 win over the Lady Lobos in Mesquite on Dec. 12.
