Longview officially wrapped the 2017 football season the same way the Lobos went about making a run to the state's final four: cheering one another on.
Throughout Monday's football banquet, cheers and applause were heard as highlights from Longview's state semifinalist team were shown on the screen. Those cheers grew even louder as the MVPs and permanent team captains -- both voted on by the team -- were announced.
Lobo head coach John King spoke about how, together, the Lobos overcame adversity and stout competition en route to the state semifinals.
"Everything that this team accomplished, they did together," King said. "This team and these seniors have set the tone for years to come.
"Order has been restored."
