The Gail McElroy Community Gospel Singing was started over 20 years ago by music director Gail McElroy. Working with the Human Relations committee her intent was to bring an afternoon of gospel music to the community from all parts of the community. All races, cultures, and churches were to be brought together to join in music; that universal language of people.
Over the years that dream has been realized as the community has enjoyed gospel music such as bell choirs(Baptists), unaccompanied singing (North Teneha Church of Christ), old time gospel music (Square Walker family), contemporary Christen music (No Name Band), and every type in between. The committee works to have new groups each year.
This year the singing will be held February 9, at 2:30 pm in the United Methodist Church of Frankston’s Family Life Center in downtown Frankston. Refreshments will be served. Come and be inspired by seeing old friends and enjoying wonderful gospel music. Call if you are interested in signing up to sing.
