The weather was perfect Nov. 24 when downtown Longview celebrated the second annual lighting of the community Christmas tree at Heritage Plaza.

Close to 1,000 people were on hand while Santa Flavious and Joshua the Elf entertained the crowd, along with the band Harvest Moon Countrygrass. Food trucks, axe tossing, face painting and balloon shapes made by Happy T. Clown rounded out the evening.

The tree was lighted up in the middle of Heritage Plaza as nigthttime approached, adding the final touch to the lights that decorate downtown Longview and the Gregg County Courthouse each year.
