SENIOR SCRAMBLE: The team of Carl Davis, Tom Carva, Bob Ikerd and Mike Ikerd finished at 14-under and earned a one-shot victory on Tuesday at the Wood Hollow Senior Scramble.
Roy Peck, Sid Clinnard, Benny Lancaster, David Powell and Danny Bryant finished second at 13-under. Tom Gibson, David Neihaus, Johnny Miller and Jim Smith came in at 11-under, and the team of David Brinkley, John Brinkley, Bob Kerridge, David George and Steve Watson finished fourth at 10-under.
Mike Ikerd earned closest to the hole honors on No. 9 (4-4) and also won the money hole at No. 13 (9-1).
LOBO GREEN OUT: The Longview ISD Foundation has begun its 22nd annual Green Out t-shirt sale at the LISD athletic office from 8 a.m.-4:40 p.m. through Aug. 5 when Lobo football season tickets go on sale.
Children’s shirts, sizes, XS-youth large, are $15; all adult sizes, small through 4XL, are $20. Chrome “Rocking L” car emblems will also be on sale for $18.
The Green Out game will be on Friday, Sept. 2, when the Lobos host the Marshall Mavericks. Fans are invited to wear their Green Out t-shirts to form the Big Green Victory Line on the field before the game in support of the Lobos as they enter the field.
The Foundation has proudly surpassed the $1 million mark in grant funding for LISD educators. Through the Great Rewards for Great Ideas Grant Program, the Campus Initiative Grant Program, and the John W. Harrison, Jr. Academic Field Trip Grant, the Foundation has given $1,000,149 to LISD classrooms and campuses to enhance educational opportunities for all students.
The Green Out t-shirt sale has certainly funded lots of those grants.

LBBA REGISTRATION: Registration for Longview Boys Baseball Association Fall league is now open and will run through Aug. 26.
This will be an instructional league with a basis on developing player skills. All games will be played Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. All players must register online at lbba.website.sportssignup.com.
Player fee is $90, and Registration fee must be received by Aug. 29. If age group does not make, LBBA will reimburse the $90. Players league age is the age player will be on April 30, 2023.
Leagues will be for 5-6 (t-ball), 7-8 (coach pitch) and 9-10 (tight bases). Leagues are also open for those who are not Longview residents.
Games will start Sept. 19 and run through Oct. 28.
H BANQUET: The annual Hallsville H Banquet is set for 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 at the high school cafeteria.
Former baseball coach Scott Mitchell and former baseball player Connor Reich will be inducted into the H Association’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
Cost for the event is $15 (food catered by Cajun Tex), and tickets will be sold only at the door the night of the banquet.
