GirlsTYLER 3, S. HILL 1: Tyler High opened play at the Pine Tree Lady Pirate Showcase with a 3-1 win over Spring Hill on Thursday at Pirate Stadium.

Jayme Dowell scored the lone goal for Spring Hill, which will take on Lufkin at 4 p.m. on Friday at Lear Park Field 1. The Lady Panthers close out the event with a 10 a.m. contest against Pine Tree on Saturday back at Lear Park Field 1.

Tyler High will face Mount Pleasant at 2 p.m. on Friday and Hallsville at 2 p.m. on Saturday — both games at Lear Park Field 1.

W. EAST 4, LONGVIEW 0: Wylie East took a 1-0 lead at the half and then peppered the net with three goals after the break on the way to a 4-0 win over the Longview Lady Lobos on Thursday at the Pine Tree Lady Pirate Showcase.

Karen Juarez and Kat Markowitz were listed as top players for the Lady Lobos in the loss.

Longview (3-1-1) will face Whitehouse at 6 p.m. on Friday at Pirate Stadium.

The Lady Lobo JV notched a 3-1 win over Whitehouse on Thursday and will face Tyler Legacy at 2 p.m. Friday at Lear Park.

BoysTATUM SHOWCASE: Day one action at the Tatum Showcase featured four games.

Sabine defeated Pine Tree’s JV, 2-0; Pittsburg blanked Spring Hill, 1-0; Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill and Mineola battled to a 3-3 tie, and Hudson shut out Pleasant Grove, 2-0.

Tatum’s game vs. New Diana was canceled.
