JV GOLF: GLADEWATER – Tyler Lee earned top team honors, followed by Rockwall-Heath, Rockwall and Longview, at the District 11-6A JV Golf Tournament at The Tempest.

Anthony Holyfield paced Longview with a 100, followed by Charlie Ward (101), Brayden Strong (109), Colby Stokes (110) and Harry Taylor (115). Safin Chowdhury, playing as a medalist, finished at 126.

GOLF TOURNAMENT: The 12th annual Gaston Museum Terri Irick Memorial Golf Tournament is set for April 27 at Longview Country Club.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the museum and a scholarship program. Entry fee is $50 per individual or $200 per four-person team. Prizes are $200 for first place, $100 for second and $80 for third, with prizes for closest to the pin on No. 3 ($50) and $25 for the long drive contest on No. 12.

Prizes are also available for aces on No. 18 (round-trip airfare for two to the 2020 Masters, eight days and seven nights in a private home, two tickets to The Masters and $1,500 cash) as well as holes 6, 9, 10 and 16 (golf travel bag and rolling duffle, Ipad mini or two $2550 gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods.

SOFTBALL BASH: Softball Bash 2019 is set for May 4 at the Waskom High School baseball field.

Entry fee is $180, with T-shirts going to first and second place teams and a plaque to the third place team.
