2019 HFLS Scholarship recipients

A dozen area high school students were named recently to $64,000 in Harvest Festival Scholarships, the nonprofit 4-H and FFA booster organization announced.

Scholarship winners are the following:

  • Ryan Denton, White Oak High School, Harvest Festival Vocational Scholarship —$2,500;
  • Tom Smelley, Hallsville High School, Harvest Festival Vocational Scholarship —$2,500;
  • Madeline Barber, Gilmer High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $3,000;
  • Wilson Nugent, Gilmer High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $3,000;
  • Ashleigh Sugg, Henderson High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $4,000;
  • Tomi Capps, Lindale High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $4,000;
  • Kacee Gasper, Elysian Fields High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $5,000;
  • Cade Judd, Union Grove High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $6,000;
  • Logan Littlejohn, Hallsville High School, Harvest Festival Scholarship — $7,000;
  • Josey Darby, Harmony High School, Patsy B. Hollandsworth Scholarship — $8,000;
  • Brayden Vancil, Kilgore High School, Jerry Lucy Memorial Scholarship (Sponsored by Upshur Rural Electric Co-op) — $9,000;
  • Christian Floyd, White Oak High School, Horaney Family Memorial Scholarship — $10,000.

The scholarships were announced during the nonprofit organization’s annual scholarship banquet at Papacita’s Mexican restaurant in Longview in April.
