Basic training graduation

U.S. Air Force Airman Alexis L. Pond and Airman Cartavious D. Green have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.

Pond is the daughter of Melinda A. Hemphill of Euless and Gary L. Pond of Marshall; step-daughter of Robbi K. Pond of Marshall; sister of Austin W. Pond of Euless and Antay L. Parker of Euless; and granddaughter of Vivian E. Hemphill of Shreveport. She is a 2018 graduate of Trinity High School in Euless.

Green is the son of Antonio Jones of Shreveport and Tiffney Green of Phoenix. He is the former ward of Royce Russell and brother of Jakobe Green and Xzavian Russell of Marshall. He is the husband of Shelby Green of Marshall. The airman is a 2017 graduate of Waskom High School.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
