FEMA closes Longview wildfire recovery center

Federal Emergency Management Agency officials closed the Longview recovery center to Gregg and Harrison County residents a day early because of a scheduling conflict.
The recovery center was slated to be open today, but because of an event scheduled in the Longview Exhibit Building, FEMA officials will not be able to host the center today, said FEMA spokeswoman Margaret Broadbent.
However, recovery centers will remain open to Smith and Rusk county residents at Bethel Baptist Church in Tyler through Saturday for victims of the wildfires that swept through East Texas.
Those center will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. toay and Saturday.
