Authorities jailed three people this week, charging them with engaging in first-degree-felony organized criminal activity.
According to arrest reports, Texas Department of Public Safety narcotics investigators instructed a "cooperating individual" to arrange for the sale of three kilograms of cocaine for $48,000 from three suspects - 32-year-old Gabriel Darnell Bennett, of Longview; 27-year-old Glendon R Cross, of DeSoto; and 41-year-old Richard Kevin Johnson, of Dallas.
As planned, the three men arrived at a gas station at the Interstate 20/Texas 42 interchange near Kilgore with money for the cocaine, reports showed. They were arrested and transported to the Gregg County Jail on Wednesday, but all three were released Friday on $100,000 bond each, online records showed.
