Officials arrest Henderson man after Sunday shooting

A 54-year-old Henderson man was awaiting arraignment Monday morning in connection with a Sunday afternoon shooting.
Henderson police Det. David Marshall said police were dispatched to East Texas Medical Center in Henderson around 1 p.m. Sunday after hospital officials reported that there was a victim with a gunshot wound being treated in the hospital's emergency room.
Marshall said the investigation determined that the male victim had been shot in the arm in the 300 block of Gray Street.
<span style="font-family:">Officials arrested and charged Harvey Alexander in connection with the shooting.</span>
Alexander was arrested at about 1:30 p.m. at his Henderson residence. Police said a weapon was confiscated at his address.
Alexander remained jailed Monday awaiting arraignment, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Marshall said he was unsure of the victim's condition.
