Jury selection is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. today in the case of an Ore City woman charged with murdering her husband.
After jury selection, the trial for Sharon Maxwell, 44, is set to begin on Aug. 20, said Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd.
Maxwell was charged with murder in late August after her husband, Gordon Maxwell, 46, of Ore City was found dead in a car on Texas 155. Gordon Maxwell was Sharon Maxwell's tenth husband.
His body was found after authorities responded to a vehicle fire at a home on Texas 155, just north of the Ore City city limits. Investigators found a body in the vehicle after the fire was extinguished.
According to an autopsy report issued by the Southwest Forensic Center in Dallas, Gordon Maxwell died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
In November, an Upshur County Grand Jury indicted Sharon Maxwell on two counts of murder.
She has remained in the Upshur County Jail since her Aug. 30 arrest. According to the Upshur County judicial website, Maxwell is being held on $500,000 bond. Defense attorney Matthew Patton of Gilmer is representing her.
