LONGVIEW -- The tattoo world has changed. It's moved off the arms of sailors, as one expert said, onto television screens and into the living rooms of Americans across the country.
Nothing will drive that point home more than the first appearance in Longview of the Ink Life Tattoo and Music Festival on Friday through Sunday at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center at 100 Grand Blvd..
Ragen St. Peter, Ink Life operations manager, said Ink Life will bring 150 to 200 of the world's best tattoo artists to Longview. That includes George Galindo, owner of the famous House of Pain tattoo shops in El Paso and California and Ink Life, "LA Ink" star Amy Nicoletto and James Vaughn, a well-known tattoo artist and 2012 "Ink Master" finalist.
Tickets are $20 per day and $35 for a weekend pass.
Hours are noon - 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon - 9 p.m on Sunday. For information, call (866) 935-1822 or visit www.inklifetour.com.
