Two Longview men were arrested Thursday morning after they were found standing next to a truck containing antique collectibles taken from a nearby house earlier that day.
Matthew Ewers, 38, and LeDaryon Antwon Anderson, 27, who live in the 3400 block of Morrison Street, were found next to a truck with a refrigerator, seven light fixtures, three metal ceiling fans, two gas heaters and an adding machine from a home in the same block.
A witness told police she saw the men enter the vacant house and remove the items, according to their arrest affidavits.
When asked what the items were, one suspect told police they "found the stuff next to the road and were going to sell it for scrap."
According to their arrest affidavits, the building is a historical Longview home built on Whaley Street but moved to its current location that is undergoing remodeling.
The victim told police some of the items were antiques and she didn't know how valuable the items were.
Ewers and Anderson were charged with burglary of a building.
They were held Friday in the Gregg County Jail on $10,000 bonds.
