Two-Minute Drill: Lobo fan bus available for Jesuit game, more

<strong>LOBO FAN BUS AVAILABLE:</strong> A fan bus for Longview's Class 5A Division II area playoff game against Dallas Jesuit in Richardson will leave the guard shack at Longview High School at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The game is set for 7 p.m.

The price is $35 (does not include game ticket).

<strong>KC HOSTING TRYOUTS:</strong> KILGORE - The Kilgore College football team will host a winter tryout for any college-eligible athlete who would like to join the Rangers' squad.

Registration for the combine is set for 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at R. E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

The combine will begin at 10:30 a.m. and should last a couple of hours, according to coaches.

Attendees must bring their own cleats, workout clothes and tennis shoes.

Cost of the tryout is $20 per person.

This workout will provide the opportunity to showcase athletic abilities to the coaching staff and possibly earn a football scholarship or walk-on position.

Pre-registration is not available.

<strong>RANGERS HOSTING ANTIGUA:</strong> KILGORE - The Kilgore College men's basketball team will get an opportunity to play an international squad Saturday, the Antigua national team, in the second game of a doubleheader at Masters Gymnasium.

Kilgore will face Antigua at 7 p.m., preceded by Tyler Junior College versus Houston Northwest Community College at 5 p.m.

Admission is free to both games.

The game against Antigua will take the place of the game originally scheduled Saturday with the East Texas Flight.

The KC men's team has also added a game to its schedule this week, playing Houston Northwest Community College at 5 p.m. Friday at Tyler Junior College's Wagstaff Gymnasium.

Tyler Junior College will also play Friday, tipping off against the Antigua national team at 7 p.m. in Wagstaff Gymnasium.

<strong>FLAG FOOTBALL:</strong> SHREVEPORT, La. - Advanced Flag Football will hold the first recreation 5-on-5 Flag Football Independence Bowl at Independence Stadium on Jan. 19.

The one-day event will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Entry fee is $280, with first-place earning $1,200. Only the first 30 teams will be accepted, and the first 10 teams to sign up and send money will get a $30 discount.

Teams are guaranteed three pool-play games and at least one bracket play game.

A punt, pass and kick shootout is scheduled before the tournament. Entry fee is $20, and there will a cash prize for the winner.

<strong>BASKETBALL REGISTRATION:</strong> Late registration for the Longview Parks and Recreation Department's Youth Church Basketball league is under way.

For Youth Church Basketball, late registration ($315) runs through Dec. 3.

This program is for all boys and girls ages 6-18 (as of Sept. 1, 2012). Divisions are 8-under, 10-under, 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under. The season will begin Jan. 5.

<strong>THANKSGIVING DAY RUN:</strong> DIANA - The Huffing for Stuffing Thanksgiving Day Run is set for Thursday.

The run, sponsored by the Student Health Advisory Committee at New Diana ISD, will be a 5K and a 2-mile fun run.

Entry fees are $10 (pre-registered kids 12-under), $20 (pre-registered adult) or $25 (race day registration). Participants should arrive at the race location (1844 Raven Road) by 7:15 a.m. with the race set to begin at 8.

Prizes will be awarded for first and second in each division, and all participants will receive a T-shirt.
