Willi Edwardo Campos, 17, of Longview was arrested by Longview police exiting a house that was being robbed, according to his arrest report.
Police said they responded to a report of a residential burglary about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the 100 block of Richardson Street. Items from the house were found when Campos was searched, according to his arrest affidavit. He was charged with burglary of a habitation, according to his booking report. Campos was held Wednesday in the Gregg County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
Preston Lewis, 55, of Longview was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault family violence with a deadly weapon. Witnesses told Longview police that Lewis stabbed his son-in-law in the back during a fight around 7 p.m, according to his arrest affidavit. Police said Lewis confessed the attack during an interview at the the Longview Police Department. He was held Wednesday in the Gregg County Jail. His bond was set at $20,000.
