With several teams across the state enjoying bye weeks and most ranked who did play taking care of business on the field, the week's Associated Press high school football poll saw little change.

In Class 2A, New Boston (No. 5) and Tatum (No. 7) both moved up one spot. Other ranked East Texas teams - John Tyler in 4A (No. 3), Kilgore in 3A (No. 4) and Joaquin in 1A (No. 5) all maintained their positions.

East Texas did gain one more ranked team when Alto moved into the Class A poll at No. 10.

East Texas teams earning votes this week were Whitehouse in 4A, Carthage, Gilmer, Henderson and Center in 3A, Troup and Hughes Springs in 2A and Carlisle in Class A.

All five top-ranked teams - Katy in 5A, Pearland Dawson in 4A, Navasota in 3A, Refugio in 2A and Munday in Class A - maintained their positions this week.

Notable changes included No. 4 Coppell and No. 5 Abilene switching places in Class 5A, Dayton entering the 4A poll at No. 10 and Hallettsville moving into the Class 2A poll at No. 10.
