Church to hold Blessing of Animals

St. Matthew's Episcopal Church will hold its annual Blessing of the Animals, officiated by Rev. Patsy Barham, at 2 p.m. Sunday in honor of St. Francis of Assisi.

The interdenominational event is free and open to all people and animals.

Animals will receive a St. Francis tag and a certificate of blessing and must be leashed, contained, or caged to participate.

Special awards will be given for the largest, smallest, and most unusual animal.
