Police: Kilgore man had pornographic pictures of toddler on phone

A Kilgore man was arrested Wednesday after Gregg County sheriff's deputies said they found numerous images of child pornography on his cell phone, including images of him molesting a 2-year-old.
Jesse Dale Smith, 33, was arrested at his Gregg County home after deputies followed up on a Child Protective Services report, according to his arrest affidavit. Smith admitted to a deputy he had images of child pornography on his phone and allowed the deputy to look at the phone's pictures.
The deputy said he found numerous images of children 2 to 17 years old engaging in sexual acts with adults and other minors.
Smith was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, possession of child pornography and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
According to his arrest affidavit, Smith admitted to downloading child pornography and admitted to molesting a 2-year-old while the child was sleeping.
Smith told deputies there were photos of the assault on his cell phone, according to his arrest affidavit.
