Cornelius Williams will continue his football career at Texas A&M-Commerce or Navarro Junior College this fall.
But the graduating Longview nose guard gets to play one final game in his high school career.
Williams was selected to play in the Texas High School Coaches Association all-star game on Tuesday, Longview coach John King said. The 5-foot-11, 290-pounder will suit up for the North team on July 30 at TCU's Amon Carter Stadium.
Williams registered 84 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and three sacks as a senior, totaling the most tackles of any player on a strong Lobos defensive line that played a large role in Longview leading District 12-5A in run defense. He also recorded 54 tackles and 10 tackles for loss as a junior.
Williams is Longview's 25th THSCA selection and gives the Lobos a representative in the game for the eighth consecutive year. He joins running back Vondrell McGee (2006), cornerback Sherman Rosborough (2007), offensive lineman Blake Bledsoe (2008), cornerback LaMarcus Howard (2009), cornerback Aaron Johnson (2010), strong safety Jovorious Brown (2011) and receiver Eric Hawkins (2012) as Longview selections during King's nine-year tenure.
