Police: Longview woman used staple gun, hammer in assault

A Longview woman was arrested Monday after police say she assaulted another woman with a hammer and staple gun in the 400 block of Johnson Street.
Staci Murry, 49, allegedly told the woman she was going to hit her with a hammer, according to police reports.
The victim told police Murry swung the hammer at her twice but missed, forcing the victim to take shelter inside her apartment, according to police reports.
Murry was able to open the door, at which time she hit the victim in the eye with a staple gun, according to police reports.
The two women began fighting and neighbors had to pull them apart, according to the police report.
Murry is being held in the Gregg County Jail on $15,000 bond charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
