More cold, rain and sleet in East Texas forecast

East Texans are expected to see more sleet and rain creeping into the region before daylight today and continue until about noon.
Brandi Richardson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said early morning temperatures are expected to get to 30 degrees so there could be some weather related traffic issues as bridges and overpasses may ice over.
"We don't expect an accumulation of ice of more than one-tenth of an inch so there should not be a problem with electrical power lines and trees," Richardson said. Those issues usually arise when there is an accumulation of a quarter-inch or more of ice, she said.
By afternoon today the moisture is expected to switch over to rain.
"But Tuesday night we expect a repeat performance with a mixture of rain and sleet," Richardson said. However, temperatures are expected to dip as low as 27 degrees in parts of East Texas on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
