Fire marshall: Second fire at West Longview home intentionally set

A Thursday morning fire at 610 Timberline - the second fire at the same house in as many days - was intentionally set, according to Longview Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary.
Zackary said a school resource officer passing by at about 10 a.m. saw the fire and reported it.
He said investigators determined the small fire in the master bedroom had been intentionally set.
"We are actively investigating," Zackary said. "We have taken evidence samples and there is work to do."
On Wednesday, fire destroyed another room of the house and the remainder of the structure suffered smoke damage. That fire, investigators said at the time, was sparked by an overloaded extension cord.
Zackary said it was not known how or if there was any relation between the two fires.
The fire marshal said if anyone has information about the case, call the Longview Fire Department or, to remain anonymous, call Gregg County CrimeStoppers at (903) 236-STOP.
