Kilgore police step up patrols for July 4

From Staff Reports
June 28, 2013 at 11 p.m.

Kilgore Police Department will increase patrols Wednesday through Saturday as part of a push to reduce alcohol-related wrecks over the July 4 holiday.

Thursday will be no-refusal day, meaning an immediate search warrant will be issued for a blood sample for anyone who refuses to submit to a breath or blood test.

Officers will be also looking for drug and weapons violations, according to Assistant Police Chief Roman Roberson.

The increased patrols will include two additional officers on night shifts for a total of seven officers.
