Third person indicted in Gregg County child sex assault

A third person has been indicted in Gregg County on charges connected to the sexual assault of a child younger than 6 this past year
Peggy Weinberg of Athens was indicted in December, accused of being part of a trio of adults who sexually assaulted the child, who was three years old at the time.
The indictment filed in 124th District Court states Weinberg aided <a href="http://www.news-journal.com/news/police/court-date-set-for-kilgore-pair-accused-of-sexual-assault/article_32233865-2cd2-53c6-83a6-a327b32e7efb.html">Jesse Dale Smith,</a> 33, of Kilgore and was present when the child was assaulted.
Court records show Smith and Cassandra Stone, 32, also of Kilgore, were indicted in December on charges they sexually abused the same child.
Weinberg has been held in Gregg County Jail since Nov. 28 on $250,000 bond on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual performance by a child.
