A Marshall man drowned Sunday afternoon at Caddo Lake after the canoe he was riding in capsized, dumping him and a another occupant into the water.
Game wardens recovered the body of Wildrick Lamon Jenkins, 21, from about 11 feet of water, according to a release from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.
Harrison County 911 operators received a call about 12:30 p.m. about a person missing from a canoe near Johnson's Ranch in Uncertain.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens were notified and Harrison County Deputies were dispatched to the area, according to the release.
The other occupant in the canoe, whose name has not been released, told investigators he tried to find the other man but never saw him after the canoe flipped.
Investigators said neither man was wearing a life jacket.
The body has been sent for autopsy.
Darrin Peeples, a Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden, said Jenkins' body has been sent for an autopsy.
"We did the recovery. After the autopsy comes back if it shows foul play, yes, it will be investigated by the Harrison County Sheriff's office," he said.
