Rumors fly over Lobo DT Henderson's commitment status

Zaycoven Henderson started a mini firestorm on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon about where the highly touted defensive tackle will take his services after graduation after many believed the decision was set in stone.

Henderson declined to comment on the matter at this time but there have been multiple conflicting reports from various outlets that the 6-1, 280-pounder has decommitted from TCU after verbally pledging to the Horned Frogs after a visit in February.

A source close to the matter told that nothing is official.

247Sports reported first – and later reaffirmed that report citing multiple sources – that Henderson indeed withdrew his commitment to TCU.

There are also reports from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that reported the contrary and that Henderson's commitment to Gary Patterson and Co. is still in place.

Henderson did say that doctors have told him that his recovery is on pace or better after a foot injury required surgery before the season. Henderson is expected to be released back to the field when the Lobos welcome an open week on October 4 but that date may be pushed up. Longview begins district action on September 27 against Mesquite.

While it appears as nothing is set in stone as of now, it's safe to say that if Henderson decides to return to the recruiting race, his services will be highly sought after.
